so tap at my window

tap At My Window- Laura Marling (I have changed/cut a few unfitting lyrics regarding Pip and Estella)

He taps at my window
Willing that I let him in
I don't think I will though
My heart's taken, I won't tell him again.
Maybe I'll write him a story
And maybe I'll fall asleep in his arms.
Maybe I'll wake up lonely and fall unawake again.

And until you calm me down
Race around this town
Trying to find, oh, an emotion you cannot deny.
I will not have him treat me this way.

And Mother, I blame you.
Therein trying to be you again
For I have become you,
And I know every part of the game
Mother, I love you
But how can you watch as I push him away?
I cannot forgive you for bringing me up this way.

Maybe I'll write him a story
And maybe I'll fall asleep in his arms.
Maybe I'll wake up lonely and fall unawake again.

And until you calm me down
I race around this town
Trying to find, oh, an emotion you cannot deny
I will not have them treat me this way.

Miss Havisham Animation

Here's a first attempt of an animation for Miss Havisham.
The guy in the backgground is 'The Man' or Compison, always in Miss Havisham's mind and thoughts. I drew her decayed and the roses she's holding rotting, her dress is torn and her eyes are sunken.
(Sorry the quality of the photo isnt better.)

Written Lyrics

Here is a song I wrote a while back, and thought it could relate to Havisham's memory and feelings towards 'The Man,' and how he jilted her.

'Heartache is the only word I can think of right now.'

Verse 1.

Heartache,
It’s only heartache.
Surely it will disappear soon?

Deceit,
It’s only deceit
Surely it will go away soon?

Your lies,
It’s only another one of your big lies.
Another notch on your bed, another tell tale to go to your head.

Chorus.

Shield from my blows, I’ll only send you more,
As my heart decays, rusts and pours –
Pain from one valve and rage from another.
Take it out, watch it bleed.
And frame it on the wall so you’ll remember me.

Don’t ask me to forgive
You shudda done that sooner.

Verse 2.

Dying,
I’m only dying.
From the outside and forever in.

Sickness,
It’s just a silly phase.
Bringing me down further and further,

My pain,
Escalading pain.
Another tick towards my name, another thing to feel to the end.

Chorus.

Shield from my blows but I’ll send you more,
As my heart decays, rusts and pours –
Pain from one valve and rage from another.
Take it out, watch it bleed.
And frame it on the wall so you’ll remember me.
Don’t ask me to forget
It couldn’t happen any sooner.

Verse 3.

Heartache,
It’s only heartache.
I promise it will disappear soon.

Deceit,
It’s only deceit
I promise it will go away soon.

Your lies,
It’s only another one of your big lies.
Another notch on your bed, another tell tale that’s gone to your head.

'Cemetery Gates' Lyrcis

Here are some lyrics that made me think of Havisham, from a song named 'Cemetery Gates' by a band named Pantera:

"The reverend he turned to me
Without a tear in his eye
It's nothing new for him to see
I didn't ask him why
I will remember
The love our souls had Sworn to make
Now I watch the falling rain
All my mind can see Now is your face,

Well I guess You took my youth
I gave it all away
Like the birth of a New-found joy
This love would end in rage
And when she died
I couldn't cry
The pride within my soul
You left me incomplete
All alone as the Memories now unfold."

The lyrics could be related to Havisham looking at herself in the past as a completely different person outside of her own body.
